U-albumin/kreatinin kvot (vid njurengagemang). Vid varje kontroll hos reumatolog. A higher proportion of anti-dsDNA, anti-RNP, anti-Sm, and lupus anticoagulant (LA) was seen in the group with nephritis (p=0.002; p=0.005; p=0.0001; p=0.01, respectively). In univariate, but not in multivariate, analysis male sex and absence of anti-dsDNA were associated with earlier onset of renal disease (p=0.03; p=0.008). The anti-double-stranded DNA antibody (anti-dsDNA) is a specific type of ANA antibody found in about 30% of people with systemic lupus. Less than 1% of healthy individuals have this antibody, making it helpful in confirming a diagnosis of systemic lupus. [The absence of anti-dsDNA, however, does not exclude a diagnosis of lupus.] Abstract Objective: Rising anti-double-stranded (ds) DNA titers have been shown by some, but not all, studies to be predictive of disease flares in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Anti-dsDNA antibody levels, known as titres, correlate with disease activity in SLE; high levels indicate more active lupus. The presence of anti-dsDNA antibodies is also linked with lupus nephritis and there is evidence they are the cause. We hypothesized that a rapid and substantial rise in anti-dsDNA titer (anti-dsDNA surge) would be a good predictor of a clinically important SLE flare. Abstract. Background: NLRP3 inflammasome has been implicated in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The activation of NLRP3 inflammasome results in the production of IL-1β and the subsequent inflammation. Anti-dsDNA antibodies (anti-dsDNA Abs) play critical roles in the development and progression of SLE. Anti-double-stranded DNA (dsDNA), in high titer, is nearly specific to lupus. It is usually associated with a homogeneous or peripheral ANA pattern.

2016-06-07 · When anti-dsDNA antibodies were injected into an SLE mouse model, activation of the inflammasome in the monocytes was stimulated. The activation may be involved in the differentiation of Th17 cells, a newly identified subpopulation of CD4 T-cells that play major roles in SLE pathogenesis – because the mice presented increased levels of Th17 cells and decreased the amount of regulatory T cells. If all three test results are positive, then a lupus diagnosis is almost certain. Up to 30% of people who have lupus, however, will not have a positive dsDNA blood test.

In 33 out of these 143 patients a major clinical exacerbation of the disease developed. The anti-dsDNA test identifies the presence of these autoantibodies in the blood. The test for anti-dsDNA, along with other autoantibody tests, may be used to help establish a diagnosis of lupus and distinguish it from other autoimmune disorders. Background/Purpose: Anti-dsDNA antibodies are highly specific for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and often associate with lupus nephritis. Extracellular nucleosome DNA released from apoptotic or necrotic cells are thought to be the source of DNA autoantigens in SLE. Recent studies show that mitochondria DNA (mtDNA) may play an important role in driving the production of anti-DNA […] Anti-dsDNA.
High-avidity anti-dsDNA antibodies are believed to be actively involved in the pathogenesis of lupus nephritis; however, low-avidity antibodies are most frequently associated with cerebral involvement [13,14,15,16]. Although anti-dsDNA antibodies are present in the damaged area, such as the kidney, in lupus nephritis, it is not widely accepted that they are pathogenic.

Anti-Sm is highly specific for SLE but, like anti-dsDNA, is not sensitive. Anti-RNP occurs in patients with SLE, mixed Objective Our aim was to assess the presence of anti-dsDNA, anti-nucleosome and anti-C1q antibodies in SLE patients, as well as to establish their sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, and their correlation with SLE and lupus nephritis clinical activity. Anti-dsDNA, surface-expressed TLR4 and endosomal TLR9 cooperate to exacerbate lupus Date: June 12, 2014 Source: Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine SLE[edit].
